Frequently asked questions
What does my business need to get started?
A logo, a decision on the reward (for example, the tenth coffee free), and at least one employee phone for scanning. We set up everything else with you.
The full answerHow long does the setup take?
Within 3 business days of receiving the payment and the business details. In the setup meeting we define the loyalty club together, and you receive the counter sign and the explanation card for your staff.
The full answerWhat happens if I cancel?
Cancel at any time, with no cancellation fee. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period. We commit to export your customer list for you, and to delete the data 30 days after cancellation. The cards in your customers' wallets will show that the program has ended. The stand, if you bought one, stays yours and keeps leading to Google.
The full answerWhere is my customers' data stored?
The data is stored with well-known cloud providers, encrypted in transit, and each business sees only its own customers. The database is hosted by Supabase in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). The site itself is hosted on Vercel.
The full answerDo customers need to download an app?
No. The punch card goes into Apple Wallet on iPhone or Google Wallet on Android, which are already on the phone.
The full answerCan I buy a stand on the site?
No. The stand is installed at your business, so its purchase is arranged directly with Gal, by phone or WhatsApp (see the contact page).
The full answerHow much does a digital loyalty club cost, and what is included in the subscription?
One subscription, monthly or yearly, and everything is included: the card in the wallet, the scanner for your staff, the portal, the digital business card and the on-site setup. There is no installation fee, and the current price is on the pricing page.
The full answerIs there a minimum commitment?
There is no commitment beyond the period you paid for. Cancel at any time, with no cancellation fee. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period.
The full answerWhat do employees need to stamp a card?
A phone. Each employee scans the customer's card from their own phone and presses the button, or everyone uses one phone at the counter and each picks their own name. The scan only identifies the customer; the visit is recorded only when the employee presses.
The full answerWhat if a customer has no smartphone, or there is no signal?
No signal in the business? The staff member signs the customer up from the scanner, and a visit recorded without signal is saved and sent when the signal returns. A customer who did not bring their phone is found in the scanner by their phone number.
The full answerDoes the punch card work on both Android and iPhone?
Yes. On Android the card is saved in Google Wallet, and on iPhone in Apple Wallet. In both cases there is no app to download, and the card updates after every visit.
The full answerWhat does the customer see on the loyalty card?
A card in the wallet in your business's design, showing how many visits they collected and how many are left to the gift. From the card they open a personal page with all their visits, gifts, their pace to the next gift and the business details.
The full answerWho owns the customer list, and can I export it?
The list is yours. You can download it to a file from the portal at any time, and each business sees only its own customers.
The full answerWhat about privacy and consent to receive messages?
Joining the loyalty club is not consent to marketing. Consent is a separate box that is not ticked in advance, and marketing may be sent only to people who agreed. This is general information, not legal advice.
The full answerCan I have two punch cards, or several branches?
Yes. You can have two punch cards on one card, for example coffee and pastry, and several branches, with a manager and their own link for each branch.
The full answerHow does a prepaid package work?
A package, like ten classes or treatments, counts down with every visit. It opens only when you confirm that the customer paid, and the payment itself does not go through Shortip.
The full answerWhat do I do with the paper punch cards customers already have?
Move them over. A customer with a paper punch card joins, the employee sends the visits they collected for approval, and you approve. Only after approval do the visits go onto the card in the wallet.
The full answerHow does the digital business card work?
The digital business card is one page for your business, with links, a menu, questions and photos. It is included in the subscription, and people reach it from a QR code, an NFC stand or a link.
The full answerWhat is an NFC stand, and how does it work?
A small counter stand with an NFC chip. Hold a phone near it, and your business's digital business card or Google review page opens. It is a separate product from the subscription, installed at your business.
The full answerWhat does Shortip do with my Google Business Profile?
You connect your Google Business Profile to the portal, and see how many people saw you, called and asked for directions, and what they searched for when they found you. There is also a draft reply for every review, an alert when something changed in the profile, and Google posts.
The full answerDoes the card work in Arabic too?
Yes, for customers. A customer whose phone is in Arabic gets everything in Arabic: joining, the card and the personal page.
The full answerDo loyalty club rewards depend on a Google review?
No, never. A visit, a stamp or a gift in the loyalty club never depends on a Google review, and Google forbids giving an incentive in exchange for a review.
The full answerHow is Shortip different from a free digital punch card?
A free tool usually gives you the card itself and leaves the rest to you. Shortip is a paid service that includes setup at your business, a scanner for every employee, a customer portal and a business card. For a small business run by one person, a free tool can be enough.
