Do customers need to download an app?
The short answer
No. The punch card goes into Apple Wallet on iPhone or Google Wallet on Android, which are already on the phone.
How to join without an app
- The customer scans the code on the sign at the counter.
- Types a phone number and gets a code by SMS.
- The card is saved in the phone wallet, and from there it is always at hand.
No signal in the business? The staff member signs the customer up from the scanner.
Why a wallet and not an app
An app has to be found in the store, downloaded and remembered. The wallet is already on the phone. After every visit the card updates by itself, with a line like "2 more visits to a gift", and on iPhone the card is offered on the lock screen when the customer is near the business.
