Do loyalty club rewards depend on a Google review?

The short answer

No, never. A visit, a stamp or a gift in the loyalty club never depends on a Google review, and Google forbids giving an incentive in exchange for a review.

Two separate things

The loyalty club is a way to thank customers who come back. A Google review is a customer's opinion, which they give if they want to. Shortip is built so there is no link between the two.

  • There is no request for a review on the join page, on the screen after joining, or in the scanner.
  • It is forbidden to give a reward, a stamp or a prize in exchange for a Google review, and the system does not allow it.
  • If the customer sees an invitation to write a review on the card, it says clearly there that it has no link to the card.

Why

Google's content policy forbids giving an incentive in exchange for a review, and Google may remove reviews written that way. Beyond the rules, a review bought with a reward is worth less to the people who read it.

To get more reviews without an incentive, you can offer customers the digital business card or the NFC stand, which lead to Google with one tap.
